Tour Plan

After months of preparation and years of planning time has arrived to go on trip of life time. Arrive in Leh and check in to hotel. Acclimatize your body to high altitude of Leh by taking rest. You can check out Leh market in the evening.
The time has arrived to answer the call of the mountains and with Dug Dug Dug... sound of our pipes, we are of for the epic Zanskar road trip. Today will be the first day when the nomadic caravan will start riding on the famous Leh- Srinagar highway. En route we will seek blessing of Guru Nanak Dev at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, find the illusion of magnetic hill for yourself, witness the confluence of Indus and Zanskar. Also check moonlike landscape at moonland near Lamayuru Monastery. Check the Mulbekh monastery before reaching Kargil.
After breakfast, the nomadic caravan will start it's journey towards PADUM. En route we will be able to see Suru valley, Rangdum, Penzila, Drang Drung Glacier. By evening we will reach PADUM. Dinner and overnight stay at PADUM.
After breakfast, the nomadic caravan will visit Saini Monastery, afterwards we will see Saini Guru Padma Sambhava statue. We will visit Padum market for lunch. After lunch, we will visit Sheela waterfalls. Rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Padum.
After breakfast the nomadic caravan will start its journey towards Sarchu. Today will be a rough riding day with stretches of unpaved roads. Your riding skills will be put to sternest of test today. En route the nomads will ride through Gonbo Rangjon (holy mountain), Shinkula, Darcha, Deepak Taal, Zing zing bar, Suraj Taal, Baralachla. By evening the nomadic caravan will reach Sarchu. Dinner and overnight stay at Sarchu.
Nomadic caravan will start its journey towards Tso Moriri - yet another beautiful lake in the world. En route we will cover Gata Loops, Nakila, Lachungla, Moore Plains, Debring, Tsokar, Puga. By evening we will reach Tso Moriri. Dinner and overnight stay at Tso Moriri.
Experiencing sunrise at Tso Moriri will be a moment of awe for the nomads. After having breakfast, we will bid adieu to the the majestic lake and start our journey towards Hanle. Today we will ride through Nyoma and Mahe bridge. By evening we will reach Hanle. Dinner and overnight stay at Hanle.
After breakfast the nomadic caravan will start its journey towards Pangong. Today we will visit Umligla - one of the highest passes of the world. En route we will visit Koyul and REZANGLA war memorial. By evening we will reach Pangong. Dinner and overnight stay at Pangong. (TODAY WE NEED TO START EARLY IN THE MORNING AS TODAY WILL BE THE MOST HECTIC AND LONGEST RIDE OF YOUR ENTIRE TRIP).
Experiencing sunrise at Pangong will be a moment of awe for the nomads. After having breakfast, we will bid adieu to the majestic lake and start our journey towards Leh. Today, we will visit Durbuk, Changla, Thiksey Monastery and Rancho school. By evening we will reach Leh. Dinner and overnight stay at Leh.
Nomads will bid its final "Julley" to the land of Lama's and travel to their further destinations. It's time for final chat with the fellow nomads and bid adieu to trip. Saying goodbye is always hard but we promise we will meet back for more such journeys and living in your memories for life. Note: We only provide a brief itinerary of the trip along with major halt points of the trip. All the detailed activities are told once guest arrive at the destination in order to build the excitement factor.

  • Extensions of the tour program or diversions in the tour itinerary for any reasons eg.Due to bad weather, road closure, breakdown or any natural calamity or due to any social or political situation/unrest/strikes, sudden rule changes or shut down of Govt.offices, flight/train delays or flight/train cancellations etc. Any additional expenses incurred due to the same would be borne by the participants.

Advisory

  • Abide by the instructions given by the team leader.
  • Do not encourage or take part in littering the vicinity in any form.
  • Avoid roaming during the nights without the consent of the tour leaders/facilitators.
  • Do not disturb the local environment or life in any form.
  • Any external damage to the motorbike or the riding gear due to accident or fall of the motorbike the rider is responsible and pay the compensation.
  • Company is not responsible for the safety or the insurance ( injury or death) claim of the rider or his/her associate incase of an accident. Rider and pillion themselves will be responsible for such cases.
  • Incase of any medical emergency or hospitalization the rider and pillion needs to pay for their treatments.
  • All sightseeing is subject to weather conditions, political conditions in the destination.

Things to Carry

  • Good quality shoes and slippers (for the night).
  • Sunscreen lotion or skin moisturizers.
  • Insect repellents.
  • BSNL, Jio, Airtel POSTPAID SIMCARD ONLY.
  • Caps/hats, goggles/sunglasses.
  • Basic medication (if any).
  • Good quality jacket or any other woolen cloth.
  • ID proof, valid driving wheeler license, Aadhaar card.
  • Photocopies of ID proof.
  • Passport size photographs.
  • Riding gear including riding gloves, helmet, jacket for motorcycle clients.

Booking Policy

Pay booking amount of INR: 5000/per person as advance. (Non refundable and non adjustable). 45 days prior to the commencement of the trip, 50% of the total amount needs to be paid. Pay remaining amount 30 days before commencement of tour.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made before 45 days prior to the trip will result in a 70% refund. Cancellations made between 30–45 days prior to the trip will result in a 50% refund. Cancellations made 30 days before the trip date will receive no refund. The booking amount is non-refundable under any circumstances. Pending payments may eventually lead to the cancellation of the trip. Double Sharing Bike Option: If one of two riders cancels the trip due to any reason, the other rider has to opt for the solo ride package. The amount paid by the one who cancels the trip is not adjustable and non-refundable.

Change or Cancellation by The Thumping Nomad

The Thumping Nomad plans arrangements in advance, and it is unlikely they will make changes to travel arrangements. Occasionally, they may have to make changes due to Force Majeure Events and reserve the right to do so at anytime before or during the trip. If there are any changes, they will advise you of them at the earliest possible date before or during the trip based on the Force Majeure Events. They also reserve the right under Force Majeure Events to cancel your travel arrangements/ offer alternative dates/revise the itinerary before or during the trip. Any additional cost incurred due to the above mentioned reasons will have to be borne by the traveler himself. There shall be no refund to the traveler under Force Majeure Events. Force Majeure Event shall mean and include any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of The Thumping Nomad, including (but not limited to):
Public enemy, accident, explosion, fire, storm, earthquake, flood, drought, perils of the sea, casualty, road closure, landslides, strikes, lock-outs, labour trouble, riots, sabotage, terrorists acts, embargo, war (whether or not declared), pandemic, epidemic, government actions, delay in issuance or processing of Visa/permit. Change of laws and regulations, orders, or decrees, or other causes of like or different character, etc., beyond the control of The Thumping Nomad.
