The first day when you will leave the great Indian plains and reach Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K.You must enjoy a Shikara ride in Famous Dal Lake, visit timeless Moughal gardens, go to immortal Shankracharya Temple to seek blessings and to check out 360 degree view of Srinagar. Don’t forget to spend your evening walking along the Boulevard road and experiencing the tourist fever. Adding a jelly to the delicious day you had, enjoy your night in a house boat to soak the hospitality of Kashmir. Greet your senses with the feel of the place known as paradise on earth.
Day 2: Srinagar-Sonmarg-Zozi La-Drass-Kargil
Travelling through the majestic valley of Kashmiryou will encounter the first major pass of the journey “The Zozi La” which separates Kashmir valley from Ladakh. Moving ahead ride through Drasswhich has the distinction of being second coldest place on earth. Don’t forget to pay homage to the valor of Indian army at Kargil War Memorial. Finally unpack at Kargil and sleep tight
Good Morning riders, get up, Leh is waiting for you guys. By now you must be feeling the high of the Himalayas. Lazily travelling through the winding roads check out Maitrey at Mulbekh, LamayuruMoanstery, Lunar Landscapes along the way.En route witness the confluence of Indus &Zanskar, GurudwaraPathar Sahib, magnetic hill and hall of fame museum. Finally, the day ends in the lap of Leh. Enjoy your sleep and reenergize yourself for the rough terrain in the coming days.
Day 4: Leh
Experience the culture of Ladakh by exploring the monasteries, Leh bazaar, talking to locals and eating some local cuisine. Roaming around the city and nearby will help the nomads to get acclimatize with the weather and high altitude.
Day 5: Leh-Diskit/Hunder
Finally the day has arrived to ride to the highest motor able road in the world. Yes the time has come to live the dream and nomads are at Khardung La (18380ft). Caravan moves ahead to what lies beyond and will reach nubra valley, another spectacle of nature. Desert, mountains, river all at same place and this is what makes nubra valley so special. Nomads can get face to face with Bactrian camels, friends of the earliest nomads. We will seek the blessing of Maitreya Buddha (100ft High) at Diskit Gompa the oldest & largest gompa in Nubra valley.
Day 6: Hunder-Agam-Shyok-Pangong Tso (Merak)
Start your journey to Pangong Tso by taking direct route along the Shyok. This is going to be one of the most remote routes of the trip. With various water crossings, riding on dry riverbeds, smooth tarmac and roads which are virtually non- existent it will be one of the best days of your trip. All your tiredness will go away on the view of majestic Pangong Tso. This is going to be highlight of the trip as there will be no one else other than our group on this part of Pangong Camping beside the lake with only basic necessities will be a life time experience.
Day 7: Pangong Tso (Merak)-Chusul-Hanle
Today we will drive along the pangong and will be headed to Hanle. Hanle in Changthang region of Ladakh is one of the most remote places in India. Hanle has a lovely Monastery offering some great aerial views of whole village that is a home of about 1000 people. Hanle also houses an Indian Astronomical Observatory which is highest observatory in the world. Hanle observatory also houses 2nd largest Gama Ray telescope in the world. You will me mesmerized by the milky way and stars that you will see in the night.
Day 8: Hanle-Tso Moriri
After witnessing the magical night sky at Hanle, it’s time to move ahead to Tso Moriri. After passing through Loma, Mahe Bridge, Sumdo we will reach Karzok which is a small village on banks of Tso Moriri. After unpacking witness the beauty of Tso Moriri.
Day 9:Tso Moriri – Tso Kar– Moore Plains – Pang-Sarchu
Start your journey from Tso- Moriri toTso- Kar and proceed further toward Sarchupassing through Moore Plains, Pang, Gata Loops . Reach Sarchu in evening and have a sound sleep at a camp site.
Day 10: Sarchu – Baralacha La – Keylong – Rohtang Pass – Manali
The destination today will be Manali one of the most beautiful hill station in North India and a gateway for trekking, skiing, backpacking. En route travel through Bara Lacha La, Suraj Tal and Rohtang La. Back to green as you will once again witness the vegetation on the mountain ranges.
Nomadic caravan will bid farewell to the Himalayas and travel to their further destinations. . It’s time for final chat with the fellow nomads and bid adieu to this trip. Saying goodbye is always hard but we promise we will meet back for more such journeys and living in your memories for life.
